Vestitel is a licensed telecommunications operator and neutral digital infrastructure provider, established in 2003 and operating across Bulgaria, Greece and the wider Southeast European region. With more than 20 years of experience in building and operating critical telecom infrastructure, Vestitel provides high-capacity connectivity services to international carriers, regional operators, enterprises and business customers.
The company has built and operates its own international optical network with Nx100G transmission capacity, 4,000+ km of backbone network, cross-border routes to neighbouring countries and 50+ ILA sites and 13inmpoertan points of presence in Bulgaria and Greece. Vestitel also operates 1,500+ km of telecom ducts alongside the Overgas gas distribution network in Sofia, Varna, Burgas, Ruse, Veliko Tarnovo and Karnobat, giving the company greater control over network reliability, maintenance and future expansion.
As part of the Overgas Group, Vestitel combines telecom infrastructure with access to a broader utility and smart infrastructure ecosystem. The company is also expanding its regional role through the Balkans Digital Gateway, a strategic connectivity initiative designed to link Sofia, Athens, Skopje and Bucharest into a single high-speed and secure digital corridor. The project has received EU support through CEF Digital, including funding for the Balkans Digital Gateway Study, while the next phase has been reported as a €24M regional infrastructure investment, including a €10.1M HaDEA grant for Phase 1.
Through this infrastructure, Vestitel supports the development of Southeast Europe as a competitive digital hub for carriers, cloud providers, data centres, AI workloads, smart cities and cross-border enterprise connectivity.
